Why I Started Broscreen
My name is Maria Escobar, and I am the founder of BroScreen. I emigrated from Medellín, Colombia to Miami, Florida in the 2000s. Like many, I came to America with no money, no English, and full of dreams to better my life and the life of my two kids. I worked hard to raise them, and part of that sacrifice was putting my passion for skincare on hold.
Through all the struggle, that passion never went away. One way I kept my passion strong was by constantly pressuring my son to wear sunscreen when he played soccer or at the beach, and by crafting my unique sunscreen formulas. That is when BroScreen was born. As women, we have a full routine designed around sunscreen and other skincare products but men do not.
Yet, we equally suffer from and are exposed to the harmful rays of the sun. I believe Broscreen will help men to make sunscreen a part of their daily routine.
Beyond working on something that I am deeply passionate about, I want my story to inspire other women, single mothers, and immigrants that everything is possible in the US with hard work and dedication.
